Yolo County officials declared a COVID-19 outbreak Monday at a nursing home as 35 people, including residents and staff, tested positive. One person also died from the virus. Everybody who tested positive at the nursing home, which county officials are not naming at this time, has been isolated and is being monitored, Yolo County said in a release. Of the 35 people, 23 of them are residents and 12 are staff members. Unfortunately, this means that people need to stay at home and not visit their loved ones.”Family members of residents at Stollwood Convalescent Hospital, which is part of St. John’s Village Senior Living Community in Woodland, said they were contacted by staff informing them of a COVID-19 outbreak. There is a COVID-19 tab on the facility’s website, which includes a link to the county’s new release.”The staff over there is loving, they’re caring,” said Bill Lamb, whose mother-in-law is staying at St. John’s Village in the memory care program. “They care about the members there like it’s their own family.”Not all of the residents at this nursing home are Yolo County residents, officials said.
