Sada Baby’s ‘Whole Lotta Choppas’ Hits Hot 100 Top 40 Thanks to Nicki Minaj Remix

Sales, too, log a massive increase. The track re-enters at No. 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart, after having debuted and peaked previously at No. 3, with 13,000 downloads sold in the week ending Oct. 22, a 2,258% burst from the prior week. It returns at No. 4 on the all-genre Digital Song Sales list, up from its former No. 10 high.

As “Choppas” returns to the Hot 100, it easily outdoes its previous best ranking of No. 93, achieved in its debut week on the Oct. 3 chart (its only other frame on the ranking to date).

The 27-year-old Sada Baby, born Casada Sorell and raised in Detroit, earns his first visit to the Hot 100’s top 40. Minaj collects her 59th Hot 100 top 40 hit, still the fifth-most all time, and her 113th career hit on the chart overall. The latter mark ties her with Taylor Swift for the most appearances among women in the Hot 100’s 62-year history.

Elsewhere, “Choppas” debuts at No. 11 on Hot Rap Songs and returns to No. 12 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs after having registered one prior week on the chart, at No. 34 on the Oct. 3-dated list. (Both charts employ the same multi-metric methodology as the all-genre Hot 100.)

Minaj, meanwhile, sparks another song’s ascent this year, after her addition to Doja Cat‘s “Say So” helped the song become each act’s first Hot 100 No. 1 in May.
